Brothers in Arms is based on the true story of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment of the famed 101st Airborne Division who were dropped behind German Lines on D-Day. The game is based on the historical Mission Albany, in which the player has to complete true to life missions of the 101st.

The player takes the role of Sergeant Matthew Baker, a paratrooper (based on Harrison C. Summers and various other people), and the leader of an airborne squad from Fox Company. The missions range from dropping into France on June 6 to the final defense of Hill 30 eight days later. Baker must lead his men through troubled times and make decisions that may result in the death of a paratrooper, which causes him much heartache.

In most levels of Brothers in Arms, the player is in command of one or two separate 1-3 man teams, with the exception of several sections in which the player is not in command of any unit. There are two types of teams, which are automatically provided before each mission:

* Fire team: Made up of soldiers with the M1 Garand and the Browning Automatic Rifle and should be used for fixing the enemy with suppressive fire. Sometimes M1A1 Carbine or Thompson submachine gun.

* Assault team: Made up of soldiers usually with the M1A1 Carbine and the Thompson submachine gun and is good for flanking the enemy while they are pinned down by the players fire team. Sometimes M1 Garand.

Additionally, some levels provide the player with a tank in lieu of a team, providing players with heavy firepower and mobile cover. The player can also man the pintle-mounted Browning machine gun on the tank for additional suppression.

Halo Zero is a fan made 2D tribute to the hugely popular Xbox series. Take control once again of Master Chief and battle against the Covenant invaders.

If the generic sci-fi story of the original Halo games was obscured by their ambition and scale compared to older shooters, it certainly isn't in a 2D 16-bit era landscape. You control the suited space marine, and shoot your way through a variety of forgettable alien onslaughts.

The graphics, as mentioned, are very 1990s, and although they have clearly been created with some care they seem uninspired. Control is via the keyboard and mouse, aiming and firing with the mouse, and movement and other things with the keyboard. It's quite a good system, and you can configure the keys as you like, which is useful.

Gameplay itself is a mixed bag. The sound effects are excellent, with great weapon effects, but the combat is untidy - you can't always see alien gunfire which makes avoiding it awkward!

FreeCall is still a Freeware app but you only get 300 minutes a week.

To bypass this restriction:
Keep the setup.exe. Freecall’s protection system is quite flawed, when the program announces you cannot use any more minutes = Uninstall and reinstall and it will reset your 300 minutes which only takes a moment.

A)You MUST make an account with the program when it loads up. Then when your logged in (it will say at the bottom: ‘The client is logged on’)

B)Go to the dial pad TAB, ignore the on screen buttons, at the bottom type in your number and remember you need to add country codes at the beginning - NO spaces in the number either.

Land Of the Dead Road To Fiddlers

Chicken is the greatest meat and zombies are the perfect monsters. Doesn't matter where you place them or what they're doing. Bottom line; their creepy, they're as nauseating as road kill, and dismembering/blowing their $#%$^#$ brains out never gets old. With that being said, I'm fully prepared to welcome the upcoming FPS Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green with arms so wide I could hug an entire zombie battalion at once, thus creating the biggest undead hug the world's ever seen.

Before I get into the game I have to admit that I'm quite confused because this title pretty much just appeared out of nowhere. It's like one minute there was Hip Game's and Kuju Entertainment's City of the Dead, and now all of a sudden there's this title that's being published by Groove Games and developed by BrainBox. Now from what I've cobbled together Hip Game's recent woes has resulted in City being tossed into zombie limbo, and if that's truly the case then I wish Kuju the best of luck. Its title made a small yet impressive E3 showing and it, like this game, is an FPS that lets you cut swath through armies of bloodstained freaks. Anyway, I hope the game resurfaces at a later date.

So now we come to Land of the Dead, a FPS that's loosely based on the recently-released George Romero film. In it you play as a farmer named Jack who's somehow managed to make it to Fiddler's Green, a luxurious building that houses only the most elite survivors that have yet to be introduced to the infectious zombie bite. Built by one Mr. Kaufman, the shady and powerful head honcho in charge offers you a special job that is accompanied by a generous reward. What this task is and whether Jack takes Kaufman up on his offer is a mystery, but regardless of his decision, he'll still have to hoof it across 20 levels populated with all sorts of terrors.

Twenty levels enables the developers to cover an insane amount of ground, meaning you'll start at your quaint Little House on the Prairie homestead and battle your way through cornfields, sewers, back alleys, and the city streets. Also, and because this wouldn't be an FPS without them, you'll be able to wield all sorts of weapons including a Glock, revolver, sniper rifle, shotgun, flame thrower, grenade, Molotov cocktail, lead pipe, fire axe, baseball bat, hammer, shovel, your bare hands, and a gold club.

Trust me when I say that you'll definitely need all of this stuff. The game's levels are infested with zombies male and female, fat and skinny. All of them feature those eerie white eyes, grayish skin, and blood-stained clothes, and they'll get even bloodier once you shove a shotgun up their @$$es since they feature various points of dismemberment. Blowing or chopping off the head is still the most effective way to stop the bastards, but you'll also be able to lop off arms and legs. The game has a fairly high level of gore, so planting a bullet right between a creature's undead eyes will cause its head to explode into several fragments.

A game like this just shrieks for a multiplayer mode and BrainBox will answer the call with play for up to 8 people on the PC and Xbox Live. Ten maps await you as well as the game modes Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and something called Invasion.

City of the Dead sounded cool but it's visuals aren't super amazingly gorgeous, but thankfully, Land of the Dead's graphics appear to be a notch or two more impressive than its counterpart. BrainBox is clearly not pushing any PC boundaries, but the zombies look menacing enough (especially the ones that are on fire) and the change of scenery (from farm to office to city) keeps things varied and exciting.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green is going to be a guilty pleasure but not exactly a revolutionary title. We'll run around, decapitate zombies, decapitate more zombies, call it a day, and not be any worse off because of it. However, I have my doubts that it'll be the definitive zombie survival experience, which at this point will require next generation technology and several imaginative minds to craft it. But in the mean time, I'll play Land of the Dead, and I'll more than likely have a fun time with it. Groove hasn't announced an official release date, but it's slated to debut sometime during October 2005, just in time for Halloween.

PATRIOTS - A NATION UNDER FIRE (HIGHLY COMPRESSED PC GAME)

Is there any thought more frightening to an American than the thought of another massive terrorist attack on US soil? Absolutely: the prospect of having to play through Patriots: A Nation Under Fire. This budget-priced first-person shooter creates a nightmare scenario of a massive, countrywide terrorist attack that leaves many major cities destroyed in a nuclear holocaust and the remaining populace under siege by masked guys with guns and unplaceable, threatening-sounding accents. It then piles on the nightmare by encumbering you with intensely clumsy cover mechanics, a level of challenge that borders on unfair, and absentminded artificial intelligent cohorts who make fantastic bullet shields but aren't useful for much else.
Even on the easiest difficulty level, it becomes clear early on in Patriots that a certain a certain amount of patience is required to survive. The number of terrorists the game starts throwing at you as soon as you exit the armory is insane. Apparently, every terrorist in the world got together and formed some kind of supergroup, because the numbers you'll end up killing over the course of the game are staggering. At the very least, you can't call these enemies dumb. Save for a few dummies who stand around vacantly just waiting for you to shoot them, the majority of these guys know how to grab cover and are crack shots, so unless you can find cover immediately, you're hosed.

And therein lies the comedy, as the game's cover mechanics are woefully inadequate. The game places plenty of abandoned vehicles and random crates around its stages for you to cower behind, but there are no covering mechanics beyond a cover toggle. You press it to duck, and press it again to stand back up. You can't look out from cover to shoot, blind fire, or do anything that might be considered, you know, tactical. Your best bet in most cases is to just wait until the AI soldiers on your side of the fight kill off as many of the nearby terrorists as they can before they're inevitably murdered (AI good guys know how to kill--just not how to avoid being killed), then quickly run to the next objective point. AI soldiers seem to endlessly respawn until you've completed each mission objective (in many cases, to rescue defenseless hostages who tend to get shot rather easily), so standing around and killing guys is less useful than just trying to run away and avoid getting shot while blasting any enemy that gets within five feet of you.

Adding to the frustration of it all is the obscenely limited amount of ammunition you're handed throughout the game. There's a decent variety of guns to play around with, but almost all of them are woefully lacking in bullets. It seems as though half of every mission consists of just running around, trying to dig up enough ammo to move to the next point. Over time the game slowly but surely gives you more and more ammunition, but it also throws more and more terrorists at you, which keeps the balance decidedly not in your favor. Even when you've got piles and piles of dead terrorists lying about the place, their weapons ripe for the picking, you rarely collect enough ammo to be useful for more than a few minutes. An even more ridiculous problem is that there's no automatic reload function, so every time a gun runs out of ammo, you have to stop to reload it manually. It just so happens that most times you'll run into this problem while you're being shot to death from all directions. Top it off with the fact that the level of aiming precision with pretty much any gun besides the sniper rifle exists somewhere around just aiming for the sky and hoping the bullets fall to the ground on a terrorist's head, and you're not going to have much fun at all with the game's shooting mechanics.

Valkyrie opens with a Colonel Stauffenberg in Africa, penning in a journal his thoughts about World War II, and how he feels Hitler is destroying Germany. Stauffenberg states he took an oath to swear allegiance to Hitler, but feels he owes more to Germany. Shortly thereafter, the camp in Africa is attacked and Stauffenberg is badly injured, losing one of his eyes, his right hand, and two fingers from his left hand.

The next scene shows Hitler visiting a base camp in Germany, and a nervous General Trescow onlooking. As Hitler prepares to depart, Trescow and an associate hide a bomb in a wine case and give to a man on Hitler's plane, but it fails to detonate in flight, and Trescow must return to headquarters to retrieve it. Once he arrives, he meets up with who is revealed as a fellow conspirator, a General Olbricht. Trescow safely retrieves the wine case and he and Olbrict discuss a member of their secret committee who was recently arrested. Trescow recommends Olbricht contact Colonel Stauffenberg as a replacement, which Olbricht does, and bring Stauffenberg to one of the clandestine meetings.

In the meeting, Stauffenberg meets three of the most important figures in the resistance. A Dr. Goerdeler, who will become Chancellor of Germany should the plot succeed, a General Beck, who will lead the Armed Forces, and a man named Witzleben. After tempers flare, Stauffenberg agrees to help. At a later meeting, Stauffenberg suggests they utilize Operation Valkyrie, which is a plan that uses the Reserve Army to keep amongst the Germany country should anything disrupt communications from Hitler, or should Hitler be killed. Stauffenberg rewrites the order to exclude the SS from taking control, which would leave the head of the Reserve Army, General Fromm, in charge of Germany. Reaching out to General Fromm, Stauffenberg and Olbricht are surprised at his rejection, but Fromm keeps quiet, choosing to neither support the dissenters nor reports them to the authorities. Meanwhile, General Trescow is sent to the front lines. Stauffenberg is promoted to head of the plan, and he, along with his assistant Lieutenant Haeften, take the order to the Berghof to be signed off by Hitler himself. Hitler, with his inner circle present, praises Stauffenberg's loss of appendages as the attitude necessary for his military, and states Stauffenberg is the ideal German. He then signs off on the bill, saying he's sure the changes are adequate.

Deadly Dozen tells the story of 12 unruly but tough army misfits who, during World War II, were picked to man an elite squad of guerilla fighters for undercover missions behind enemy lines. Honestly, though, it's really the Deadly Dozen manual that does most of the storytelling. True to the example set by its full-priced competition, Deadly Dozen isn't heavy on plot, which is just fine.

Though it's been a generally lackluster period for PC action games, tactical shooters have had a great year. Between the ambitious Operation Flashpoint, the much-anticipated successor to the venerable Rogue Spear franchise, Ghost Recon, and the ongoing popularity of user-created mods such as Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat, fans of the genre have had more good games to play than ever before. For better or worse, the genre has even gained its own massively multiplayer game with the release of WWII Online. It was only a matter of time, then, before budget publishers
noticed the trend and capitalized on it. The result is Deadly Dozen, Infogrames' entry into the previously nonexistent world of budget-priced tactical shooters. And true to the genre's recent run of luck, it's pretty darn good
The 10 missions take place across various locations in Europe and North Africa. Most levels include a mix of both indoor and outdoor environments, and all are huge. The graphics, while not state of the art, are certainly above average, especially for a budget game. The 3D engine is capable of producing some striking outdoor scenes, and the various smoke and weather effects are all well done. The one big letdown is that all the levels are filled with fog, including ones that take place in the desert in broad daylight. Perhaps to boost engine performance, an opaque plane of fog is pretty close at all times. So even though the levels each represent what's probably a couple of square miles, you'll never really get a panoramic view of your surroundings.

The fog also contributes to the game's biggest flaw--the enemy artificial intelligence. The Nazis you're fighting tend to have the uncanny ability, once they detect you, to pinpoint your position and fire on you, even if you can't really see them through the murk. If you shoot an unsuspecting guard from a distance using the sniper scope and don't manage to kill him, he'll instantly find you and fire back with deadly accuracy, even if he's armed only with an unsighted rifle. On levels with a lot of cover, this isn't as much of a problem, as it becomes easier to creep from building to building and plan your attacks more carefully. But in missions that have a lot of fog and not a lot of cover, you end up having to abandon most of the squad-based parts of the game. Even though you can give orders, such as follow, hold position, and attack, and set formations and control each man individually, the only member of your squad who's really useful in a lot of situations is the guy with the perfect rating in both sneaking and sniping. You'll often find yourself either attempting these missions with just one man or using the other three soldiers as pack mules to hang back and carry extra health kits and ammo.

1. Prism

Internet browsers haven't evolved much from the day IE was first started. The exponentially growing dependency of internet has always conflicted with running desktop apps as an user could never synchronize between the two. These days, you need to open your browser, go to your mailsite and then log into your account to read the mails. What if you had an icon at the desktop clicking on which would have opened a window with your mails only? Or say what if you had google calendars at your desktop?

Prism works right there bridging the two ends into a common platform.

Prism is an application that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop. A very big part of this initiative is to make sites/apps work when they are not connected to the Internet. HTML 5 (the next version of the basic standard for the encoding of Web sites) includes explicit support for local, offline resources.

Technically, as Mozilla says,

Prism is a simple XULRunner based browser that hosts web applications without the normal web browser user interface. Prism is based on a concept called Site Specific Browsers (SSB). An SSB is an application with an embedded browser designed to work exclusively with a single web application. It doesn’t have the menus, toolbars and accoutrements of a normal web browser. An SSB also has a tighter integration with the OS and desktop than a typical web application running through a web browser.

Objective

Separate process: You can not blame a web browser for running fast but acting slow these days. Because you have so many webapps running through that only, it is bound to get slower. With prism, you will get separate windows for separate processes. If your CPU is fast, they act fast just like applications.
Minimal UI: A generic browser UI is not needed for webapps. If any UI is present, make it specific to the webapp I am using.
Basic desktop integration: Create shortcuts to start the webapp, add ability to show specialized icons in the tray or dock and ability to display notifications.
Platform with extensions: Suppose I don’t want to download a full browser runtime for each webapp but want to be able to add some custom code/features that are not directly supported in the webapp. I should be able to install one runtime and then get packages or extensions for each webapp. Remember Firefox extensions or Greasemonkey scripts?. With Prism these extensions should be able to tweak the SSB UI as well.
Open external links in real browser: If I click a link in the webapp that opens a new site, don’t change my webapp browser window. Open all external links in my default/real browser.

2. Weave

Weave is another great new feature of Firefox that is going to change the history and future of broswer experience. How many times did you have a tough time to find a webpage that you had bookmarked at your office but couldn't remember while surfing at home. What if a concept is presented to you which synchronizes bookmarks, home pages, favorites, and passwords to any online service to any computer you are in. Be it office, be it home, be it your car, be it any browser (!) these personal data and settings go with you all the time(just like the cute dog from Vodafone's ads, lol).

Seriously this is great and this is exactly What Weave intends to do. You can see a glimpse of intelligent address bar (smart URL suggestions while typing a web-address) at Firefox 3. But this one will be more compact and integrated with lots of features.

Re-Volt is a radio control car racing themed video game released by Acclaim Entertainment in 1999. The game featured 28 stock cars and 14 tracks including a stunt arena for free roaming. 25 to Life is a third person action game with a terrible aiming mechanic and woefully inadequate controls. As you might assume, that does a whole lot to make the game as unnecessarily frustrating and perplexing as possible. In it, you'll be able to use a wide variety of guns including several pistols, SMGs, rifles, grenades and Molotov cocktails. Each painfully linear stage plays out through a series of combat arenas. In other words, you enter an area, kill the enemies, pick up the floating health pack, move to next area, kill more guys. That's pretty much it. With a game so specifically focused on combat, it's amazing how limited your character is in terms of abilities. After playing through the game's first two levels, you've seen pretty much all there is to see.

Whoever you're controlling can crouch, run around, occasionally vault walls and lean side to side. The leaning is the only combat option that might have proved worthwhile or added some strategy, but as it stands it's pretty much useless. For one, you don't really lean that far, so you can't see much more of the combat area than if you were to just run out from behind cover. Second, the actual lean is slow, meaning if there are enemies around that know where you are, they're definitely going to shoot you. Third, once noticed, the enemies will always seem to know when you're going to lean out.

Basically, this means fighting from cover is awkward and ineffective. This is especially true since enemies will frequently lean out from cover too. In many cases you can't see exactly where your foes are and because the leaning controls are so slow to respond, you'll have to stand out in the open to know when you're able to shoot at them. Don't get the wrong impression here; just because the enemies take cover doesn't mean they're smart

I burned the iso image with nero.. This will fit on a dvd-rom..

Please do a clean install from system bootup with this windows cd disk. This is not a upgrade disk. The updates (hotfixes) one update to obtain online from windows update webpage kb958215.

This windows xp sp3 is only for gamers as a lot of stuff has been taken out to make the operating system faster for gaming.
